Thy Kingdom Come

Kingdom Citizenship, part II:

John 3:3-5: Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.”

In short, to be “born of water and the Spirit” is spiritual not physical. We too often see everything from the natural, yet, when we begin to see from a Heavenly perspective, we will realize that the “water” here is the cleansing water that ran from the side of Jesus along with the blood. There is a lot of focus on the blood, but little (if any) on the water. This is the symbol of Heavenly purification and new birth. Then, after internal water cleansing, the Spirit can move into our spirit and dwell. It is through this spiritual transformation that one is transferred out of Earth’s citizenship and into Heaven’s citizenship.

In the natural, one has to sign legal documents and take rigorous tests to transfer their citizenship from one country to another; this comes only after months and often years to complete. With all that work, waiting, and shuffling paperwork, though their citizenship does change, it doesn’t make their bloodline any different. If the person originated in France but becomes a citizen of America, they are by all rights, still French.

In the spiritual, there is no work on our part, no tests to be taken, no documents to be signed, and no waiting! Once we accept Christ’s blood, His blood removes our old bloodline (of the Earth), He inserts His blood (transfusion) and, in so doing, we are instantaneously transferred from and Earthly origin to Heavenly, and transformed into His likeness. Unlike the natural where a Frenchman is always French no matter where he or she settles their body or what paperwork they have testifying of their new citizenship, the spiritual completely transfers us from the nation of the Earth to the nation of God’s Kingdom. No longer are we “of the Earth” therefore, in Christ, we become a stranger in the land called Earth.

  1. I love this. I am so glad that you explain it so clearly.

Luke 21:36 "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."
